Project Details

Jaljeevika has joined hands with the Bombay Sappers Regiment Pune of the Indian Army to create income opportunities in fisheries for retiring army personnel. We have established a Mini Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) at the Bombay Sappers campus. This setup aims to provide comprehensive training to ex-servicemen on modern technology in fisheries, offering them a post-retirement livelihood option. The initiative is focused on empowering veterans during their transition into the fisheries sector, fostering their success in new endeavors. To achieve this, Jaljeevika conducts one-day sessions led by experts, providing participants with a deep understanding of fish farming in various freshwater resources such as lakes, agricultural ponds, village ponds, and man-made ponds. Additionally, to offer practical insights, a Fish Farming Project has been implemented within the golf course area of the Bombay Sappers Regiment, Pune campus. Through these efforts, we are dedicated to enhancing the well-being and economic independence of respected veterans.
